For the first time, the 28th Annual US Open Mini Golf Championship is taking place in Hawaii on May 16 to 18 at Anaina Hou Community Parkon the island of Kauai.
The event, which includes a Pro-Am tournament, the US Open main event and an awards ceremony, will bring around 150 amateur and professional competitors from all over the United States.
The island will benefit from the tourism uptick, but also Anaina Hou, a nonprofit organization supporting families and youth programs, will receive proceeds to support its mission.
"We’re proud to host this event for what it brings back to the community," Ben Karon, CEO of Anaina Hou Community Park, said in a news release. "The US Open Mini Golf Championship puts Kauai on a national stage while directly supporting youth programming and the future of Anaina Hou."
