Downtown Honolulu's Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra wrapped up its first comprehensive room refresh in more than two decades.

The revamp touched 1,176 units across both its Waikiki and Kona towers, with each now featuring custom furnishings, modern lighting and lei-inspired accent walls.

The project also included corridor and elevator lobby renovations as well as the addition of an outdoor Activity Center designed to bring "fresh energy and experiences to the property."

These upgrades mark the conclusion of a propertywide transformation that began in 2021. Previous enhancements had been made to the hotel's lobby, pool deck, porte-cochere and other public spaces, creating what the property calls "a cohesive, island-inspired look and feel."

Originally opened as the Ala Moana Americana in 1970, the Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra is currently part of the Accor portfolio.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this report incorrectly spelled the name of the hotel in the headline. It is the Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra.
