Norwegian Cruise Line will debut its next ship in May 2027, a 3,840-guest Prima Plus-class vessel called the Norwegian Aura.
The Norwegian Aura will be 10% larger than the Norwegian Aqua and Luna at 169,000 gross tons and a length of nearly 1,130 feet. It will homeport in Miami starting in June, sailing seven-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries through October and seven-day Western Caribbean itineraries in the winter. Sales opened on Jan. 15.
The Aura will debut a multideck activity space called Ocean Heights. Located on decks 18 to 21, the area will have five slides, more than any other NCL ship. Amongst them will be its first dueling mat racer waterslides called Eclipse Racers, a drop-in body waterslide called Aura Free Fall, a lotus waterslide with rafts for up to four people called The Wave and the 10-deck dry slide The Drop.
Ocean Heights will also have an 82-foot ropes course, a 25-foot rock climbing wall, an area with carnival-like games, a mini-golf course and a bar. It will debut overhanging private cabanas overlooking Vibe Beach Club.
