NEW YORK -- Travel Weekly was the recipient of two Eddie awards for excellence in journalism and one Ozzie award for excellence in media design by Folio, a media company that covers the publishing industry.

Travel Weekly won for Best Use of Editorial Data, B2B, for Travel Industry Survey, an annual staff report on a survey of travel agency business. (The survey is fielded by Phocuswright, a sister company to Travel Weekly).

It also took home an award for best series in the business-to-business, travel and transport category for its two-part cover story "Getting into groups," which looked at how advisors can build group business in different verticals like cruise or river cruise and spoke with advisors about their success in creating groups. The series was a collaboration between senior editors Jamie Biesiada, Nicole Edenedo, Christina Jelski, Andrea Zelinski and Robert Silk and news editor Johanna Jainchill.

In the Ozzies, Travel Weekly was awarded for feature design in the B2B category for "What queer families want from travel." The design work was handled by creative director Jennifer Martins.

"These awards for Travel Industry Survey and "Getting into groups" were the result of team efforts and reflect the collaborative nature of the entire editorial team and our partnership with Phocuswright," said Arnie Weissmann, editor in chief of Travel Weekly. "And Jennifer Martins goes from strength to strength as a designer -- she makes everything we do look great. I couldn't be prouder of this staff."

Travel Weekly also was a finalist in several categories.

Weissmann's weekly column From the Window Seat was a finalist for column or blog in the retail, banking, food and travel & hospitality category; and his cover story "Empathy is the destination" was a finalist for single article in B2B travel and transportation.

In the analysis/B2B category, Johanna Jainchill's report on travel to Maui after the devastating 2023 fires, "Going back to Maui," was a finalist."My Dinner with Mr. Italy Jr.," a profile of Perillo Tours CEO Steve Perillo by then-tours editor Nicole Edenedo, was a finalist in the B2B profile or Q&A category.

The podcast Trade Secrets, hosted by Jamie Biesiada of Travel Weekly and Emma Weissmann of sister publication TravelAge West, was a finalist for travel and leisure podcast.

The Eddie and Ozzie awards were presented by Folio at a dinner in New York on Oct. 6.
