After a seasonal closure for the annual Formula 1 race in Las Vegas, Grand Prix Plaza will reopen Jan. 30 with an enhanced F1 X multisensory attraction.
A refreshed 4-D theater anchors the 20,000-square-foot F1 X interactive space. Stereoscopic LED technology surrounds guests with holographic visuals, while motion seating, immersive sound and physical effects will make them feel like they're in the thick of a Formula 1 race.
Among the other changes visitors can look forward to:
• The Legacy of Formula 1 gallery has an updated collection of memorabilia and detailed replicas to provide insight about the sport's milestones and legends.
• New designs and colors have been added to the Advanced Design Studio, where guests can customize a Formula 1 car on a computer screen. Guests can now also design their own racing helmet and use an interactive avatar mirror to see themselves transformed into a driver in a racing suit.
• The Central Pit Stop Challenge, relocated to the center of the exhibition, will have a full Formula 1 car. Guests can form a pit crew to jack the car and change the tires.
"F1 X is designed to bring fans into every aspect of Formula 1 -- from its rich heritage and innovation to the teamwork, strategy and adrenaline that define the sport," said Benjamin Larvie, general manager of Grand Prix Plaza.
