EF Adventures has expanded its offerings for its Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift cycling collection.
The operator will offer eight itineraries this year that include special access to the cycling events and includes opportunities for travelers to cycle through France themselves. Already, two of the eight itineraries are sold out.
The new itineraries come as EF sees increased demand for tours built around events.
Through the operator's partnership with EF Pro Cycling, an American professional cycling team backed by EF Education First, travelers will have access typically reserved for team staff and sponsors, including an opportunity to cycle on official race routes, take podium photos and attend post-race parties.
"We've designed these tours so that whether you're chasing the thrill of climbing legendary alpine peaks or enjoying the slower rhythm of medieval villages and lakeside rides, you get to be part of the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift experience," said EF World Journeys USA CEO Heidi Durflinger.
Each traveler can choose one of two Cannondale bikes for their trip through the operator's partnership with the bicycle company: the Synapse Carbon 2LE performance road bike or the Tesoro Neo X2 StepThru e-touring bike. Travelers can also upgrade their bike for an additional cost.
One example of the itineraries is the Grand Depart & Catalonia, which starts in Barcelona, where the Tour de France will kick off for the first time this year. The trip includes access to the Stage 1 Starting Village, a tour of the EF Pro Cycling Team bus and cycling Els Angels and Mare de Deu del Mont.
