Darth Vader is coming to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Southern California's Disneyland.
The Star Wars-themed land that opened in 2019 will no longer be stuck in a single Star Wars era, opening the door for new characters and storylines to appear, starting April 29.
Since it opened, Galaxy's Edge has been set only in the time period of the most recent Star Wars films (Age of Resistance and First Order), with main characters Rey and Kylo Ren.
Now, it expands to enable guests to experience the Galactic Civil War and New Republic eras, as well.
In addition to Lord Vader, Galaxy's Edge visitors can also expect to see characters Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker roaming around. Favorites like the Mandalorian and Grogu, Chewbacca and R2-D2 will continue to appear, as well.
Guests' ears will be in for a treat, too, as the land will now incorporate the iconic John Williams scores from the first six Star Wars films.
Some stores will see some changes, too. First Order Cargo will become Black Spire Surplus offering military artifacts for sale, including Imperial and Rebel items from the Galactic Civil War.
Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities will carry even more merchandise from different Star Wars eras.
The Droid Depot will be run by an earlier generation of the Mubo family, some of the galaxy's most skilled droid builders. Guests will still be able to purchase and customize droids at the shop, but it will be set in an era where the Mubos are first prototyping BB-style droids (think BB-8 from the new films).
The land's signature attractions -- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance -- will still operate normally, as will nighttime shows "Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga" and "Fire of the Rising Moons."
