Club Med on Oct. 13 will open reservations for its first South Africa resort. The Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari is scheduled to open in July 2026 on the east coast of South Africa in the KwaZulu-Natal province.
For the first time, Club Med is combining a resort experience with "an exclusive private safari adventure." The resort will have 411 accommodations, including 66 suites. Plans call for four pools, two restaurants and several bars.
Oceana will be an all-day restaurant serving several cuisines, and Nguni Gourmet Club will showcase South Africa seafood and produce.
Guests will have exclusive access to the resort's Mpilo Safari Lodge, located within a 44,479-acre game reserve. There will be daily guided safari drives, including drives designed for families with children.
The property will also be home to Club Med's first surf school, a wellness center and a variety of kids offerings, including a Baby Club Med, a Mini Club Med+ designed for children ages four to 10 and a teen program called Chill Pass.
