The Paradise Cove Luau on the west side of Oahu is closing after a 47-year run, while the landowner redevelops the 19.9-acre property. The luau will continue to run through the end of the year — its last night is on Dec. 31.
"We are so grateful to the people of Hawaii for allowing us to be part of their lives in so many ways over so many generations," Keith Horita, president of Paradise Cove Luau, said in a news release. In addition to its nightly shows, the luau's scenic grounds have hosted weddings, baby luau, birthday parties, graduation celebrations and corporate events.
"We have loved helping people celebrate the milestones of life, and we invite our kamaaina ohana to join us in creating lasting memories as we enter the final chapter of our journey," Horita said.
When development is complete, the site will be transformed into The Cove — a new entertainment, dining and retail experience, featuring a new oceanfront amphitheater and commercial luau.
