Following a four-year restoration by architect Luis Laplace, the Chesa Marchetta will open its doors on Jan. 2 in the village of Sils Maria, Switzerland.
Located in the Engadin Valley, a region known for cross-country skiing, the property was formerly owned by the Godly family and originally combined a 16th-century guesthouse with the Chesa Marchetta restaurant, which hosted renowned artists like Gerhard Richter and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Owners Iwan and Manuela Wirth will unveil the 13-room hotel and a restaurant that seats 46 guests and celebrates local producers from Engadin and Northern Italy. There is also a three-bedroom house available for rent alongside the property.
Open seasonally from December to March and June to October, rates start at about $570 per night, including breakfast.
