Some high-rise hotels in Bangkok have temporarily limited operations, following a 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck near Mandalay, Myanmar, on Friday.

The earthquake was felt in Thailand's capital at around 1:30 p.m. local time, according to news reports.

The InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit announced a closure of many of its facilities.

"Due to the recent earthquake in Bangkok, all our outlets, including the Lobby, Rogues, AVA Brasserie, The Spa by Harnn and our infinity edge pool, will be closed today," hotel management announced on Facebook.

Dramatic video shared widely over social media showed water cascading from the InterContinental's rooftop infinity pool down the side of the building during the tremors.

The Banyan Tree Bangkok also announced disruptions, stating that a Friday concert at its Vertigo Too venue, located on the property's 60th floor, has been postponed. The hotel said new show dates would be announced.

Likewise, the Pullman Bangkok Hotel G temporarily closed its rooftop Scarlett Wine Bar and Restaurant, according to an Instagram story posted by the hotel.

The SO/ Bangkok reported that all guests, team members and visitors were safely evacuated amid the earthquake, but urged customers to "take precautions" and "avoid tall buildings," warning of possible aftershocks.

Minor Hotels, which operates the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, confirmed that its hotels in Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Bangkok were all evacuated as a precautionary measure.

"We are relieved to confirm that all guests and team members are safe," Minor's statement read, adding that they are "closely monitoring the situation."
