AmaWaterways introduced its second ship on the Magdalena River in Colombia. The AmaMelodia began cruising Oct. 26.

The river cruise line said the AmaMelodia's debut reinforces its commitment to growing sustainable tourism in Colombia and bolstering the country's future as "a world-class river cruise destination."

The ship can host 64 guests, with staterooms ranging from 237 to 318 square feet. The ship features a main restaurant, main lounge and sun deck. The AmaMelodia was built and designed by local artists to reflect Colombian culture.

The ship operates two itineraries: "Magic of Colombia" and "Wonders of Colombia."

"After seeing the incredible response to AmaMagdalena earlier this year, we are thrilled to welcome AmaMelodia to the AmaWaterways fleet," said CEO Catherine Powell. "Launching these two ships has been an extraordinary collaboration with our Colombian partners. Together, we are not only creating unforgettable travel experiences for our guests but also helping to build a sustainable foundation for tourism that benefits local communities along the river."

Kristin Karst, AmaWaterways co-founder and chief brand ambassador, lauded the new ship as "a beautiful example of what can be achieved through true collaboration and respect for local heritage."
